About Me

Who am I?
I am an enthusiastic, persistent, ever-learning, curious person. I have been a software engineer for the last +20 years and am an amateur mathematician.
What’s up with the images?
All drawings for the posts are my own (when they are not, I will make that clear in the attribution). I do not use AI to generate my content or my images. The images are purposefully imperfect as I like them and my own creation.
Why draw? To practice and grow my creativity. Creativity is a rare jewel that helps you find solutions to impossible problems. Just try to find a way to calculate the area of a circle without using existing formulas.
Creativity is not a born skill but something we can develop and improve on. Creativity seems to happen best when we are doing “nonsense” tasks. When thinking about creativity, I like to think of Charley and the Chocolate Factory; for it to be fun, a task doesn’t need to make sense, and when we are having fun without restraints or purpose, we are free to be creative.
Why do I write?
For many reasons, and they may not all make sense. But firstly, writing is hard, and I like taking on challenges.
We are social creatures, and writing clearly and conveying my intent is essential. By writing, I have also improved my verbal communication.
Writing is also a learning tool that helps clarify my thoughts from a blurry of discombobulated ideas into a set of cogent ideas that shows that I’ve grasped the “gist” of a topic.
